Within the 1990s there is a persistent problem of Gay culture. Early in the 1990s it was hard to come out and let the world know that you are gay. Within the early 1990s The Wedding Banquet (1993), although it approached the issue of Wei-Tung Gao trying to tell his parents that he is gay and still accepting as who he is. Contrastingly within the late 1990s it becomes more acceptable to society by having celebrities coming out like Ellen Degeneres during her tv show Ellen. The two kinds of media contrast as a form of whether or not to come out as a gay or not during a time when AIDs was prominent and new. The narrative structure of the film was showing the conflict s and struggle to satisfy old traditional parents and newer forms of beliefs. Within the scene sequence of the parents arriving, but before that Simon, Wei-Wei, and Wei-Tung had to redesign the house and make preparations in put on a faà §ade for the parents. Wei-Tung’s struggle to hide the cruel fact for his parents by â€Å"coming out to family of [heterosexuality] is important for lesbian and gay men’s mental health and couple relationships.† (Green) Throughout the film the narrative plot and structure revolves and we can slowly see the mental breakdown Wei-Tung has with the relationship with his partner Simon, Wei-Wei and his parents. Historically this can be understood as problematic as coming out and that it was hard to face others especially one’s own parents. This is shown that within the early 1990s it was hard to face the public because of the treatment and dislike within the community. Whether you know it or not there is a income pay difference between men and women. The question is why men are getting paid more, when women are doing the same job. One job occupation that is currently dealing with the issue, are doctors. Male doctors are receiving more money than the female doctor. When the stakeholders do not take part in the preparation phase and do not participate in the reviews, they end up showing less interest and are finally disengaged. This result to the lack of unity and the collaboration in the pro ject support and hence failure since there are no necessary people required to offer the guidance needed to see the project through until its success. It is thus important for the project managers to ensure that they have in place a consistent methodology for use in the planning and the execution of the projects before announcing the date of releasing the project (Discenza, Forman, 2007). The second cause of the failure in the projects is inadequate leadership (Shauchenka, 2013). This does not only focus on the project managers but also on the other leaders at all the management levels that are bestowed with the responsibility of ensuring the success of the project. The management or the leaders at all the levels should ensure that they offer support to the project manager so that he can be in a position to follow through on all the expectations that he has placed on them. Lack of the necessary support from the various management levels can lead to the failure of the project due to the difficulties in the project development (Kerzner, 2017). This causes the project to be caught up in the priorities and failure to collaborate in the organization and this makes it hard for all the people involved in a project to work towards a common goal. The project managers should thus ensure that they communicate effectively with all the team members so that he can lead in the execu tion of the desired results and ensure that the expected performance has been delivered. The third cause of the project failure is the existence of gaps in communication. According to Montequin, Cousillas, and Villanueva, (2016), many of the project teams usually use the emails as the means of communication on the various tasks and issue in the project. As a result of this, the communication on the project thus resides in the email box of the individual team members and the case that a new member joins in the project, there is usually no centralized way that the new member can be in a position to access the history of the project. The executive managers thus usually rely on the emails sent to them either weekly or monthly by the project managers, and thus most of the information about the project is left in the hand of the project managers which they at times tends to hold hostage. When the project managers send the email to the team members, their feedback may not reach all the members of the team especially if they fail to click the reply to all option and thus some of the members end up not receiving the message. Lastly, in the communication gaps, some of the team members complain about the volumes of emails sent and the burden that they have on sorting them out so that they can get the most relevant ones. This thus results in the wastage of time since they could be working on more important and pressing issues instead of sifting through the emails. To solve this problem, there is a need for project managers to offer a centralized location for communication. Posting information in a central location so that in case new members join the team, they can be in a position to quickly review the progress can catch up with the rest of the team members. The other cause of the project failure is the lack of visibility into the resource workload. Due to the lack of the prioritization in the projects, the resources are usually overloaded. This occurs in the case where the executive managers do not have a clear visibility of the activities in the project and also the tasks. They thus end up delegating the task of resources allocated to the project managers and in the case that the priorities in the project are not established correctly, the company ends up undertaking very many projects at a time. As a result of this, the team members tend to have more work than the time available for the completion of the work. The project managers thus need to let the executive managers know the work load that they have so that they can avoid getting in trouble (Chitkara, 1998). The impact of this is that the team members may opt out of the job and go search for work somewhere especially because they are overworked so that they can meet the deadlines and ensure the completion of their tasks, the project and also meet the objectives. Over planning by the executive managers can lead to the complexity of the schedules which causes the problems associated with the lack of visibility later (Chapman, 2013). It is thus important to ensure that adequate planning is done right from the start so that the management can get a better view to avoid overworking the employees and losing its actual progress which makes it appear messy and difficult to bring back on the right track. Clarification on critical and system thinking in understanding project failures As demonstrated in the paper, the ideas and approaches that different authors have regarding project failures is significantly different. Despite this reason, however, a large number of these individuals make similar conclusions concerning the topic and have agreed in many instances. What Douglass It Made Of Frederick Douglass: an in depth look into the life of a great man Robert B. Lewis V. Kurt Young History 112 Spring 2001 The molding of Frederick Douglass How did the early years of Frederick Douglass life affect the beliefs of the man he would become? Frederick Douglass adulthood was one of triumph and prestige. Still, he by no means gained virtue without struggle and conflict. There was great opposition and hostility towards him. To fully understand all of his thoughts and beliefs, first one must look at his childhood. Frederick Augustus Bailey was born in February of 1818 to a black field hand named Harriet. He grew up on the banks of the Tuckahoe Creek deep within the woods of Maryland. Separated from his mother at an early age, he was raised by his grandparents Betsy and Isaac Bailey. Isaac and Betsy were not thought to be of relation. Isaac was a free man and a sawyer, while Betsy was an owned slave, but she kept her own rules. Her owner trusted her to watch over and raise the children of the slaves until they were old enough to begin their labor. She was allowed to keep her own cabin, and to farm food for the children and hersel f. It was not an easy job. While all of the mothers were busy working in the fields of their master, Aaron Anthony, she was busy watching over their infants. Betsy Bailey was quite a woman. She was a master fisher, and spent most of her days in the river or in the field farming. She was very intelligent and physically able bodied. Most historians credit Fredericks intelligence to his extraordinary grandmother. At the age of six, Fredericks carefree days of running and playing in the fields came to an abrupt end. He was taken away from his grandmother to begin the toil and sweat of the field workers. Here he joined his older brother and sisters, Perry, Sarah and Eliza in the fields of Edward Lloyd. The slave head in charge of Frederick was the cruel cook, Aunt Katy. Although perhaps he deserved some of her wrath, being a very mischievous child, she was undoubtedly a little out of line. She took up a need to abuse him, mentally and sometimes physically. This may have sprouted from resentment against his mother. One of Katys favorite acts of punishment was starvation. On one occasion when Fredericks mother had come to visit, she had committed a terrible deed by interfering in Katys eyes. Later in life Douglass talked very fondly of his mother. He remembers her as having a natural genius, though unprotected and uncultivated.# Douglass was also very proud of her literacy. He never knew her in his older years, however, because she died when he was only seven or eight. Katy also resented Lucretia Auld, a resident of the house who had taken a liking to him, who gave him food when she wouldnt. These were to her just more reasons to be hard on Frederick. After being caught up around Master Lloyds house, Wye House, he was forbidden not to venture near there ever again. Young Douglass loved to watch the people, especially Lloyd. He was a wealthy former Governor of Maryland and a senator and also an ideal example of an exploiter of the very profitable slave system. It is quite feasible that the reason he was so interested in Lloyd was because of Fredericks lack of a father. In fact many historians believe that Lloyd may very well have been the father of this young mulatto. Douglass later knew that his father must have been white which was the only way to explain the light shade of his skin. After exploring the property on many occasions he began to spend time in the garden because he loved spending time with the fragrant smells and vibrant colors. Eventually he met with Lloyds young son Daniel. They became friends and Daniel began to smuggle Frederick in the house through the garden. In slavery it was very common, before puberty, for a slave child to play with the masters children. By the time he was eight it was time for Douglass to pack
